BOGUE PROFUMO - MEM

MEM deconstructs lavender notes with tonal nuances, roasted malt and the tingle of aldehydes, evolving into a rich floral heart with facets of wax, petrol and rubber.
MEM opens with a dark lavender note, reminiscent less of fresh herbs and more of clay and porcini mushrooms. Soon, sunshine streams in in the form of hops, roasted malt, and the crisp freshness of aldehydes, lifting the fragrance from its humus-rich top note. The burnt sugar of the ethyl maltol caramelizes the lavender, creating a mysterious fruit accord reminiscent of the dark, almost petrified contents of a forgotten jar of peach jam. Once the mind has adjusted to this accord, MEM transforms again, this time into a lush, floral heart of jasmine, rose, and ylang-ylang, sacrificing natural beauty for the more intriguing facets of wax, gasoline, and rubber. Indian sandalwood, with its wheaty creaminess, and Himalayan cedarwood, with its lingering smokiness, work harmoniously together to usher the floral and aromatic notes into the base. The powerful yet beautiful finish weaves together the sweet hint of unlit incense with the musky, salty, and animalic base of a classic barbershop fougère.
